Join us on October 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Kemptville, ON for a unique, community-centered offering led by Elder Fred and CNAC facilitator Juwain.

Rooted in Indigenous knowledge and practices, this three-hour gathering will guide participants through the Indigenous names of local places and plants, fostering respect and reciprocal relationships with the Land. Following the walk, the group will be invited to share a meal together, a time for sharing stories, learning collaboratively, and experiencing food as a cultural and unifying force.

This family-friendly gathering is open to up to 50 community members. It will be an opportunity to deepen connections, strengthen community relationships, and honour Indigenous voices.

This event is proudly funded by TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.

We want this gathering to be accessible to all. The event fee is set at $25 per person, however, if cost presents a barrier, please reach out to us at [email protected] before registering.

Kindly note that travel to Kemptville is not included. A Carpool Chat is available on our platform for those interested in organizing rides together.

Participating in an offering with Child and Nature Alliance of Canada, an outdoor, nature-based program, includes inherent and foreseeable risks of harm, personal injury or even death, and accidents occasionally happen. You are required to accept these and other risks as a condition of your participation. While the variety of risks is more than can be listed here, and keeping in mind that Child and Nature Alliance of Canada facilitators are trained and experienced, the following is a list of the more obvious and frequent risks: (1) Injuries from executing strenuous and demanding physical activities (2) Injuries resulting from matches or fire (3) Contracting poison ivy (4) The presence of wild animals and ticks (5) Changing and inclement weather including storms, high winds, lightning (6) The possibility that you may not heed safety instructions or directions given to the group or delivered individually (7) Negligence on the part of other participants (8) Negligence on the part of Child and Nature Alliance of Canada and its agents, principals and employees, including the failure on the part of Child and Nature Alliance of Canada its agents, principals and employees to safeguard or protect participants from the risks, dangers and hazards of participating in the activities. The use of photographs and video may include the following: Publicity materials produced by CNAC to promote training. For other members of the offering to use in their portfolios.
